Everyday route vs. shortest route
Everyday words first searches within our editorial selection of familiar words. It can take more moves than the mathematically shortest answer. Fewest moves searches the full dictionary; it may use uncommon plurals or other words you would not normally reach for. We label words outside the everyday selection rather than pretending both results are equally approachable.

The last column counts words outside our editorial everyday list in the shortest route, including the starting word. It is not a word-frequency rating. “Not available” means no route stays entirely within that selection; the full dictionary may still have one.

Does this show today's official Poople answer?
No. It calculates a word ladder from the word you provide. We do not have a verified feed of the official daily puzzle, its answer, or its archive. Check your starting word in the official game, then enter it here if you want independent help.
Why can the shortest answer contain unusual words?
A shortest-path search counts moves, not how familiar a word feels. Our full word list includes uncommon words. Choose everyday words first for a more approachable route, or select fewest moves if you want to explore the larger dictionary.
Why might the official game reject a word from this solver?
The dictionaries are separate. Our routes are validated against word-list, with an editorial selection for friendly hints. We cannot guarantee that another game accepts every word. Read the dictionary notes.
Can I use a hint without revealing the full answer?
Yes. A clue reveals which letter position changes. The next-word button reveals only the first step. The full route stays hidden until you explicitly reveal it.
What does “no route” mean?
Either the starting word is not in this dictionary, or no one-letter sequence connects it to POOP in this dictionary. It is not proof that the word is invalid everywhere. Check the spelling or try another word.
